Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on 6 March 2026.

We at Yamba Surf Life Saving Club are working to make our site www.yambaslsc.org.au accessible to people with disabilities.

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved through the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating and through assistive technologies.

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site’s content has been adapted to work with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.

As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Used accessibility tools to identify and fix potential accessibility issues

  • Set the language of the site

  • Structured clear and logical content order across all pages

  • Defined consistent and clear heading structures

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Implemented colour combinations that meet required contrast standards

  • Ensured videos, audio and downloadable files are accessible wherever possible

Yamba Surf Life Saving Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment — on the beach, in our clubhouse, and online. We are continually working to improve accessibility and usability across our digital platforms.

Accessibility Arrangements in the Organisation

Yamba Surf Life Saving Club is committed to accessibility within our physical facilities.

  • Accessible parking is available near the clubhouse.

  • Step-free entry is available to main public areas of the clubhouse.

  • Accessible restroom facilities are provided onsite.

  • Clear pathways are maintained throughout the clubhouse and surrounding public areas.

  • Our volunteers and staff are available to provide assistance where required.

We aim to ensure our services — including patrol operations, education programs, training, and community events — are inclusive and welcoming to all members of the community.
