Coaching

Coaching and training at Yamba Surf Life Saving Club supports athletes at every stage — from emerging juniors to committed senior competitors. Our structured program includes water, sand and gym-based sessions throughout the week, covering iron training, march past, beach sprint and flags preparation, as well as strength and conditioning for cadets. Each session is designed to build skill, fitness, discipline and teamwork, developing confident competitors and capable lifesavers ready for branch, state and national competition.

Iron Training

Iron training is held at 7am every Saturday morning for strong, committed Under 11 competitors and up. Sessions focus on swim, run and board legs, building endurance, transitions and race strategy in real surf conditions. It’s ideal for competitors preparing for carnivals and for lifesavers who want to maintain a high level of fitness throughout the season.

Sand Training

Sand training is led by Sports Coach Brett Myers, who combines both field and beach-based sessions to build speed, power and endurance. These sessions are designed to prepare athletes for beach sprints, flags and distance run events, helping competitors develop strong technique and explosive performance on the sand.
