Yamba Surf Life Saving Club is committed to the health, safety, and wellbeing of all members. We strive to provide a safe, positive and inclusive environment for everyone participating in Surf Lifesaving and aim to ensure that it is enjoyable, rewarding, and safe for all.
Member Welfare
As part of the Surf Lifesaving community, every individual has a role in fostering a supportive and positive environment. By encouraging respectful behavior, members contribute to SLSA’s mission: saving lives, developing great Australians, and building stronger communities.
The SLSA Member Protection Policy supports these goals by promoting a safe, fair, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in Surf Lifesaving. It outlines our commitment to ensuring that all members are treated with respect and dignity and are protected from bullying, discrimination, harassment, and abuse regardless of gender, age, ability or race. The Policy also clarifies the legal and ethical rights and responsibilities of all participants and highlights the standards of behavior expected within the Surf Lifesaving community.
Members are covered by Workers Compensation- SLSNSW for patrolling, club activities & competition.
Our club is supported by a dedicated team focused on member protection. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our Member Protection Information Officers are available to provide guidance to any member with an issue or potential grievance and serves as the first point of contact for raising concerns.

If you ever feel there’s a conflict of interest and would prefer to speak to someone else in the club, you can email our President at president@yambaslsc.org.au
Alternatively, you can contact the Member Protection Information Officer at the Far North Coast Branch via mpio@surflifesavingfnc.com.
If after contacting one of our officers above you would like to proceed with a formal complaint, this can be lodged by the complaints portal: https://complaints.sls.com.au/
Your voice matters, and we’re here to ensure everyone can be heard safely and respectfully.
