We’re always excited to welcome new members interested in volunteering at Yamba Surf Life Saving Club. Whether you want to become a surf lifesaver or contribute in other important roles, there’s a pathway for everyone. With major events and activities throughout the season, there are plenty of ways to get involved, make a difference, and be part of our vibrant surf lifesaving community.
Becoming a member of Yamba Surf Life Saving Club is easy! Whether you’re joining for the first time, renewing your membership, or transferring from another club, we’ve got you covered.
Types of memberships
Nippers (Ages 6–13) - $60

Activity-based program teaching surf safety and awareness

Held every Sunday during summer (October–Easter)

Fees include: Age group cap & high vis pink vest- both compulsory for Sunday activties.

Nippers must have at least ONE parent join as a member per family.

To join, nippers must turn six years of age before October 1st.

Competition Caps are compulsory for competing in carnivals and can be purchased through the clubhouse for $20.
Nipper Parents - $60

This category is for nipper parents who are not active patrolling members.

At least one parent must be a member of the club.
Probationary Members - $60

This category is for new members enrolling in award training. e.g. SRC, Bronze, UAV

Training Enrolment Forms must also be completed for the appropriate course.
Patrolling Cadets (Ages 13–15) - $20

Surf Rescue qualified members on regular patrols.
Active Patrolling Members (Ages 15–18) - $20

Start with your Bronze Medallion to become a patrolling lifesaver

Additional training and qualifications available to expand your skills
Active Patrolling Members (Ages 18+) - $20

Bronze medallion holders participating in the patrol roster.

Further training available for those wishing to broaden their expertise. e.g. Advanced Resuscitation.
Active Reserve - $40

Must have a minimum of 8 years of regular Patrols, approval of Yamba SLSC Board and do a minimum of 12 patrol hours per season.
Award Members - $60

Support club operations in areas like radio, first aid, and resuscitation or UAV patrols.
Long Service Members - $40
-
Must have a minimum of 10 years of patrol and be approved by Yamba SLSC Board.
Associate Members - $80

No surf lifesaving qualifications required

Support the club through fundraising, social events, and general activities

Perfect for those who want to be involved without patrolling or competing
Family Membership- $180
-
For families with children participating in Nippers or lifesaving programs (U7's-U19's).

Fee includes high vis vest and age group cap for nippers.
Associate Gym Membership - $330
-
Annual Gym membership for all associate members covers the period 1st July - 30th June, or part there of.

Gym membership is only available to current financial members of Yamba SLSC.

A gym membership application must be made through the office each season for Board approval.

Pro-rata fees or Payment plans are not available.

Key's are available for a $20 fee.

An induction fee for new Gym members will apply.
